The Democratic Party will never change. We tried that angle for 48 years and it's still hasn't gotten anywhere. 3rd Party should have been created once the Democratic establishment fukked over Eugene McCarthy in 1968. So, the party is the problem. I would have became a Republican, but Progressives Republicans are a thing in the past. A 3rd Party is needed. Most voters don't even fit between the two parties ideology wise.

Point is, the Democratic Establishment will only move further right and continue to protect the 1% elite.
