Dennis Rodman says LeBron James would be 'average' player in 1990s | The Point Forward - SI.com

“If LeBron was playing in the late ’80s or early ’90s,” Rodman said, “he’d be just an average player.” Rodman went on to tell The Dan Patrick Show in an interview that aired Friday that LeBron is “a great player, a helluva player,” but the Hall of Fame rebounding ace said Jordan dominated a much tougher era in leading the Bulls to six titles in the 1990s.

Rodman said he would have welcomed the chance to guard James.

“If I was 28 years old guarding LeBron … are you kidding me?” Rodman said. “If he scored on me, I would be like, OK, thanks. Guess what, though? Sooner or later, somebody’s gotta win, somebody’s gotta lose, and most of the time I don’t lose.”

taking it a bit too far, but rodman wouldve raped bron on the boards no homo

after 2 or 3 elbows to the grill and kidneys... bron wouldve retreated to the perimeter even quicker than he does today

bron would be crying to the refs even more if thats even possible

He's wrong about everything except for the fact that Dennis would give him hell defensively. I won't say he'd shut Bron down but his production would be way off when he faced Rodman. The worms defense was fukking intense. Him and Bruce Bowen had out of this world defensive skills. :wow:

An athlete is a product of the current atmosphere of the game.

That ebing said... if current Bron tooka time machine and played an NBA game in the 90's, he'd be very timid after the first time going into the paint for a lay up and getting the equivalent of a current day flagrant foul not being called and the referee indicating "play on".

However, as athletically gifted he is and with his phsysique...had he grown his game throughout the 90's...he'd have been a top 3 NBA player regardless.

Disclaimer: I am a Knick Fan, I hate the Heat, I have no respect for his flopping but I ackowledge his talent.

The Worm hate is going to be strong in this one. While I don't think Bronz would be average, he'd be good, he sure would get clowned a whole lot just for his flopping alone. After awhile he'd have to give up that part of his game and actually develop a game. As it is, flopping is one of his stronger attributes.
