If Allen Iverson doesnt get in, which the media may not let him in, with a CAREER 26.6 ppg....than Carmelo can forget about it.

He's done way less than AI had done at this point of his career and is nothing but a scorer.

He doesnt have a HOF resume.

Answer this....Who has ever averaged 25 over a decade, but yet only made it out of the 1st round of the playoffs 2 times in that time period?

He doesnt have the resume to be a HOFer yet:manny:

Bernard King is a HOF'er with his 23 ppg career avg (injuries notwithstanding) and two playoff series victories.

Melo also has the college & Olympic accolades on his resume

And Iverson WILL get in

:usure: Duncan's last ring was against Lebron. Kobe got his first Finals MVP after that. Their eras clearly overlap. Same with Garnett, Pierce, Ray, Dirk, Tmac, Nash, Yao etc.

exactly, nikkas kill me talking about kobe and lebron played in different era's, their careers overlap 10 years. SMH

Their career's overlap like Wilt Chamberlain's and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

Wilt was not from Kareem's era and was at the twilight of his prime once Kareem entered the NBA. Kobe's prime ended in 2010 (athletically) when LeBron was only a 6 year pro while Tim Duncan started his decline in 2010 as well (evidenced by the fact Duncan only put up 13 pts a game in 2011 and 12 pts a game in the playoffs).

Kobe and Tim Duncan are 2 of the greatest players to ever play the game of basketball. At this point, they are BY FAR the best 2 players at their position.....and they arent even in their athletic primes. They are dominating off of pure basketball IQ and skill.

Their era's were the late 90s and 2000s. To see them both still dominating 3 decades in is crazy and speaks VOLUMES on the level of competition in LeBron's era of the NBA.

A seven year pro that had been to the Finals and was already a 6 time all-star, 6 time 1st or 2nd team All-NBA, two time All Defensive team. 2 time MVP.:comeon:

Since you wanna act like LeBron is part of Kobe's era and EVERYONE knows Kobe's athletic prime ended in the 2010 season.

And just cause I feel like arguing:ufdup:

Kobe Bryant from 2004-2010
28.7 points per game during this time period
4 NBA Finals Appearances
2x NBA Champion
2x NBA Finals MVPs
1x MVP
7x NBA All-Star
6x All-NBA 1st Team
1x All-NBA 3rd Team
6x All-Defensive 1st Team

vs

LeBron James from 2004-2010 (until the end of Kobe's prime)
27.8 points per game during this time period
1 NBA Finals Appearances
0 NBA Championships
0 NBA Finals MVPs
2x MVP
6x NBA All-Star
4x All-NBA 1st Team
2x All-NBA 2nd Team
2x All-Defensive 1st Team

HOW THE fukk WAS LEBRON JAMES ON KOBE BRYANTS LEVEL WHILE KOBE WAS STILL IN HIS PRIME?!:mindblown:

You LeBron stans kill me trying to revise history, but the facts are what they are. Kobe was better than LeBron while Kobe was still in his prime. Kobe's athletic prime ended in 2010....this (2010-present) is LeBron's era.

2004-2010, LeBron wasnt fukking with Kobe and the facts state the same

Stop it:childplease:

Dominique averaged 30.7 ppg in 1988, teams in 1988 averaged 99.6 possessions and averaged 108 ppg.

Durant averaged 30.1 ppg in 2010, teams averaged 92.7 possessions and averaged 100.4 ppg.

Scoring as a whole went down pretty uniformly essentially around MJ first championship making it a more difficult feat to average 30 ppg in todays era as there are less possessions.

In terms of batting the "GOATS", , Nique battled with Jordan and Drexler......then also Danny Ainge, Fat Lever, Mark Aguirre, and Alvin Robertson on the wings. All All-Stars from the era.

On top of the game being played at a faster pace back then, it was easier to score over the man to man defenses teams played back then; especially for players who where primarily iso players. Teams may not play full blown zones nowadays, but you still see player playing way off of their man, guarding "space", letting doubles come quicker, teams rotate faster, and collapse on the lane harder when a player is driving;making it harder for offenses to exploit favorable matchups than it was in the 90's.You can't look at these stats in a vacuum and say the 90's where better players because they averaged higher numbers, when the game was a bit different back then. But I will go out and say that team defense now>>>90's, primarily because of the rule changes allowing more nuanced schemes.
