I don't think he was pissed. I saw this movie for maybe the third time yesterday. In the movie, the same thing plays out during a scene with a waitress. The whole winking thing was part of the movie. They probably was acting they same way as their movie roles. Denzel is a professional and I don't think he was upset at all.
