I was leaning towards thinking Deon Cole was overreacting. It's on the arrogant side of things to expect people to just know you.

However listening to what he said, it's more a matter of his demeanour rubbing him off the wrong way. I saw the exchange and it's like he made a point of having a delayed acknowledgement. If that is paired with him continuously making a point of showing he doesn't know people, then he is in need of a clip around the ears.

To be fair, the same thing happened with Kai and Wale. He just seems like someone who doesn’t do any homework on things that happened before his era. If you want to operate in certain circles then it’s not unreasonable for him to study the fields he’s in. It’s Hollywood.
