Contextually recent defense spending increased under democratic administrations due to conflicts initiated by republican administrations. If you go back 40 years, on average spending under republicans far outstripped democrats. Theres a recent pub by the AEI that substantiates that. Other than Crockett and Holmes Norton who are the serious minded democratic reps on the sub committee. There’s also a recent Soo’s article that cites 6 democrats who see DOGE as an opportunity to cut subsidies to fossil fuels et al. I could go on, party of naiveness and appeasement.
