Well actually the President can. It's called a veto.
He didn’t veto this shyt. It’s approved. Doesn’t matter if Biden approved it. Trump and Elon are breaking the law by cutting it. If they wanted to cut it next year, ok get that through Congress and cut it and let everybody see who and what is being cut.

Can someone who knows/understand government explain the difference between OMB and DOGE?

It sounds like at worst, they are doing the same thing. Or at best, DOGE is supposed to be regulating the OMB.

That is fukking bullshyt. This is not the beginning of the 20th century, or even the latter part where few or not easily accessible sources of information, it is the 21st century. Anything you want to know can be found in the palm of your hand in very little time, but people rather choose to look for irrelevant things.

You had people, groups, news orgs stating the facts and you had people not give one shyt about it because it did not conform to their world view. It did not matter what was presented to them, even when they knew it was true, if it came from the Democrats it was to be discarded.

People hearing Trump and Friends stating exactly what they wanted to do if they got power and they still crafted an image of Trump in their head that was not rooted in reality. People that had illegal family members voted for Trump because he is only going after "the bad ones". People partially or wholly dependent on gov aid voting for Trump even though Republicans stated they are going after fed programs. Black people voting for Trump even after the "DEI/Woke" attacks, because they cant mean black people like me. Some people knew Trump was going to fukk shyt up but they just wanted to "own the Libs".

Stop absolving idiots of their idiocy. They had the right information presented to them and they chose either to vote for Trump or not vote at all. Accept the fact that a large portion of the populace are retarded and people like Trump, Musk and their cronies will feast upon them.
I saw somewhere yesterday at 54% of Americans read at a 6th grade or below level. It doesn’t matter how much information is available if People’s read comprehension is not high enough for them to understand the words being used to describe it.

OMB actually has power over staffing. They’ve been doing things by the books but I expect them to escalate soon and just start doing layoffs.

DOGE as described was supposed to give recommendations and is now unilaterally firing people and closing agencies. These agencies were funded by Congress and passed into spending bills. Which means Elon is breaking the constitution to do these things, but nobody is saying shyt because the republicans control all branches of government.

The end goal of this is they do cuts on the executive branch unseen in our lifetimes. Then after they have effectively crippled the federal government they will move the offices to red states and hire republicans (who are not qualified) to run the remaining agencies.

It’ll break America, but they don’t care because they will benefit from itZ

After that I expect they plan to keep things the way they make it by stealing elections using superpacs. The only real way to stop them now is a democrats gets elected and shuts down citizen United and packs the Supreme Court.

Realistically you don’t need two people to run that role.

Honestly can't tell if you're with this "efficiency" thing or not.

I can tell you from working in various parts of the Fed over the years (not right now though) - a lot of important fed functions are UNDERSTAFFED.

They would do better with up to date tools to be more productive, of course - but the amount of things to fix in the US - be it Dept of Ed or Dept of Interior or Dept of Defense - is damn near infinite.

And I don't mean adding on new functions - but just doing all the stuff that various administrations have piled on the civil service to do over the decades.

Congress need not pass another law, ever again, if there'd be real enforcement of the stuff on the books already. (don't get started on the law they passed for Asians - there were already hate crime laws ON THE BOOKS...and guess how reluctant they are to enforce them given the common practice...)

The same motherfukkers get on through life well enough with that comprehension level. A lot of the shyt that was presented to the people could be understood at a 3rd grade level. Trump is not some high intellectual, he spoke very plainly about the shyt and fukkery he would unleash if he was elected and they still elected him.

Definitely not on board with it and pretty much agree with basically the entire post.

It’s a symptom of everything: a bunch of loopholes everywhere leading to things being very complicated and confusing, getting in the way of efficient resources.

The thing is, if the US ran the govt like China - a lot of little people would get trampled - and those "externalities" cost others.

For instance, all the highways the Fed (and States) built in interstate expansion basically went through the hood and destroyed those places.

The knock on effects of destroying poor communities doesn't show up on the Dept of Transportation balance sheet - it shows up on Dept of Health and Human services and other places.

So it's a balancing act between the majority and the minority. Or since you're a STEM person, "tradeoffs".

Most of Fed programs, rules, and regulations don't just exist because folks like busy work.

The conservatives just want to pull government back from doing things ....and letting the problems just stay with "the people".

Toll roads instead of highways.
Private schools instead of religious schools.
No WIC or Food Stamps.
No medicare/medicaid.
No social security.

Just the very basics "necessary" to run a country...

What those basics are? No one knows. As soon as you define one - you have to start to talk about implementation and fairness.....and then you get all these regulations and complexity.

I'll actually agree with the first part of your statement. Information is accessible but there is relevant information that isn't. IMO to know a candidate's true policies and agenda, you have to know their major donors. That information isn't readily available and donors are not attaching memos with their donations on what they expect from candidates. Like I said before, the biggest problem is the system. I don't believe in "only" blaming voters when we have a system that allowed him to run again after January 6th. I guess where I disagree with the "only" blaming people narrative is because I see voters were conditioned to be what we are now. Compartmentalize one issue and ignore the rest even if it's against our interest. If people were as logical as many people believe, capitalism wouldn't be what it is today. Compulsive, emotional, and irrational purchases made it to what it is today. Meanwhile, constant advertising ensures that just like sensationalism from the media.

What’s funny is the guy is worth $500 billion.

Dude bought this kind of power with 1/2000 of his net worth.
For now. Tesla is a glorified car manufacturer. SpaceX and neuralink don't have profitable products yet.
His net worth is an illusion.
You can't tell me a company that sell cars is driving the net worth of its ceo to half trillion dollars for real. His assets are overvalued. He is built on hype. It's a house of cards and at some point he will have to deliver on the promises he's made about his companies and their products

Are you serious right now? These motherfukkers did not run some, "We are going to do this and secretly do that" campaign, they literally told you what the fukk they were going to do.

Trump and his people did not hold back or be artistic with their words: they spoke plainly about what they wanted to do and how they were going to do it. They literally said they were going to start tariff wars, dismantle the federal government, go after illegals, take down the "DEI/Woke", etc.. and now you are saying people who have the pikachu face were misled?

People literally from the Left said this shyt would happen and people had a million excuses on why it was not, now we are supposed to give them some type of grace from their decisions? WTF?

Vivek got fired already. You don't see them having him around do you :mjlol: ?

Indic00n got that wake up call

He was just on a Twitter Space with Musk last night. Given what Elon and DOGE are actually doing the optics probably wouldn't look great for an Indian to be at the forefront. He likely advises behind the scenes.

Or Vivek heard what Musk was going to do and said nah I don’t want to be involved in this.

Nah this tweet cooked him. Vivek's arrogance was his downfall, like it will be for the rest of these bums.

I swear Musk was talking the same shyt as Vivek but someone had to fall on their sword as white MAGAits got triggered. May as well be the brown guy.

Vivek let the cat out of the bag too early on how these tech bros view a lot of these MAGA people. Musk etc are not MAGA per se. They are using MAGA as a way to access institutions which looking at the last two weeks they are well on the way.
