Grok: is this true?

Yes, the claim is true. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is reviewing a pitch for a reality TV show called "The American," where immigrants would compete for a fast-tracked path to citizenship. Multiple credible sources, including The New York Times and The Washington Post, confirm the proposal is in early vetting stages, though not yet approved or denied. The idea has sparked debate, with some seeing it as a way to educate the public, while others criticize it as exploitative and unethical. Details remain preliminary, and the outcome is uncertain.

That would be cruel. Cause you know they would have them doing humiliating things on tv. And if this was proposed under any other president it might have a chance. But under Donald trump you can bet it will not be a good experience for the contestants.
