I see nothing wrong with the article. he basically called today's athlete. That goes for MJ too. Where have u seen these dudes take a stand.? MJ will take a stand when it comes to a store using his brand but social issues. nah.. So dont say he allowed you to speak your mind when you dont. I am a mets fan respect Jeter. Kept himself clean and out of an controversy. But you never knew what dude really thought about anything.. Never knew where he stood on anything. The author may not be talking about just Jeter but todays athlete. Some of you guys are upset because he is your Yankee idol. Fine just say thats why you are upset

The fukk is Jeter singled out for when basically 99% of athletes are like this today :dahell:. Lebron's basically the only one who tries to keep it semi-conscious. And this dude name drops Chris Paul who wouldnt even sit out a game during the Sterling fiasco :deadmanny:
This was addressed like a good 12 times in the thread.

Yet to see an article on MJ for being the GOAT c00n and never taking a stand on anything. Not to mention Jordan has infinitely more influence and popularity than Jeter. :jbhmm:

Crazy how America has literally made Jordan untouchable. Even if a nikka did make a hit piece on him brainwashed zombies would be in the comments going "6 rings lolol he can do what he want," like that has anything to do with political stances. :snoop:

Typical corporate swagless bland athlete.
Understand he didnt want to scare away sponsors/endorsement money but he lacked charisma, people couldn't relate to him. He seemed distant and standoffish.

actually Bernie Williams, paul o'Neill, and tino Martinez were both more clutch than him. Remember 1999 alcs game 1? 1996 Alds? 1996 Alcs mvp? Bern baby bern...Bernie williams.

Jeter was called captain clutch tho. He was remarkably consistent but i didn't recall being him hitting the big time hits ala david Ortiz.

mookie Wilson, Joe namath, Reggie jackson, darryl strawberry, jackie robinson(brooklyn dodgers), babe ruth, joe dimaggio, dwight gooden, mike piazza, patrick ewing, JOHN STARKS, and gary carter will always be remembered unlike jeter. Because of their charisma and personalities.
Is this a real post? Breh said JOHN STARKS will be be remembered more than Derek Jeter.

Journalists have had it out for him ever since he started Player's Tribune. He played them for two decades and they're sour his next move after that was to cut them out of the picture entirely.

And the people who did the protecting, the NY writers, felt personally offended that the first thing he did after retirement was create a platform that froze them out. Seriously, the week he announced the Player's Tribune there was basically a giant fukk Jeter piece in the Daily News, and the sentiment has been like that ever since.

There's a reason why these writers never went at him before, but do so now. Do you think if Jeter's piece about Ali was instead given to a Daily Post writer instead of onto his own website which goal is the elimination of sportswriters, this article would still be written and published?

Use your brain.

These writers are mad they treated Jeter with white privilege his whole career and he threw them in the bushes as soon as he was done.

Two birds, one stone.
fukk the writers.
fukk Jeter.
