It's funny when you hear Illmatic and how much Halftime sticks out because it was recorded during a completely different time period. The climate or rap changed within those 2 years. There was a small class of fans that were kinda disappointed because Halftime was more reflective of his Live At the BBQ style, which they thought Illmatic would be. But Illmatic turned into something completely different

GTFOH,shouldnt even remotely be mentioned along side Death certificate.
Nowhere near it musically or lyrically
and many other albums are better

easily, i didint know illmatic existed or was hot like that until later in life, on the west coast it was written was pushed heavily. i heard street dreams before i ever heard a song off illmatic
