I'm needing to spend my yearly eye insurance allowance before the year is over, so I need to purchase a pair of frames. I'm leaning toward a pair of D&G's, but I'm open to suggestions, especially if the frames are flames.

I want to keep it under $500 unless it's flames. In my experience, anything that costs more is generally "exotic & unique" (read: ugly). I'm into simplistic designs that can be worn in business, formal or casual settings.
Well, i wear a suit every day and work for a large financial organization, and this my starting lineup: (not my pics)

  • The zebras above
  • 1053121.png
    • Buffalo horn, gold, in eyeglass (though, seasonally i switch the lenses back to sun glasses)
  • buffalo-horn-eyeglasses-Cartier-T8200759.jpg
    • white plastic, platinum
  • Fred%20Lunettes%20FRED%20FORCE%2010%20EVO%20F1%20001.jpg
    • Platinum, gold accent, Fred Lunettes
  • 113136_thumb.jpg
    • Phillipe S+arck
  • 3628-7ANGW.jpg
    • Shuron Ronsir Zyl

The bottom two are less than $500, the Fred were a little over. The cartier are significantly more than $500.

My advice:

Its your face. Dont be scared to invest in a quality pair. You will wear it more than the > $500 watch some wear. And, everyone sees your face.

Glasses are my thing, over any other accesory. I have 13/14 pair.

Btw, for general ideas, for some elite frames, check this ig page. Its mostly Cartier, but theres a lot of variety

I have the zebras as eyeglasses

Those would look dope.... on someone that's not me. I know everyone has their own taste, but for me, that is the quintessential definition of "exotic & unique."

They look way more regular as eyeglasses but i hear you

If you have optical insurance, eyemed is owned by luxottica, of whom also manufactures almost every "brand name frame" other than stuff like i listed above. All versace/fendi/dolce/gucci etc will have a huge discount with their insurance.

Ok, those are some nice frames. I actually like the Cartier frames(especially the black/gold accented), but not at those prices... I know.... pay the cost to be the boss. These Santos de Cartier are fire..... http://www.cartier.com/en-us/collec...e00165-santos-de-cartier-optical-glasses.html

If I ever own a pair, it will probably be only one pair. For some reason, I'm just enamored over the Dolce & Gabbana frames, so they'll be my first pair. These are my top 3.....

Black acetate eyeglasses for men DG3277

Black rectangular eyeglasses for men DG3276

Black round eyeglasses for men DG3260

That is a dope ass collection. I wanna keep mines simple because I overkill it. I think maybe 5-6 frames will do, that includes sunglasses.

Word, that style is nice. My desire for that style led me to the black browline Shuron Ronsir Zyl pictured. Little known fact, Shuron invented the brow line frame that Rayban blew up :takedat:

You cant go wrong with the style you pictured...very reliable.

save your money...hit up warby parker and call it a day
Thats really a flawed way of thinking and I'll explain why:

That logic makes sense if you just want 'some glasses that look nice'. And thats fine. I am that way about watches...i have 3 watches to my name and I dont think a single one cost more than $300 (two burberry and one armani...macys shyt..nothing special..and a movado inherited). So, a warby parker equivilent watch would make sense for me. For "watch guy" though, that is total dirtbag status...because they value watches.

The same way "save your money and get a honda" is ridiculous to "car guy" who wants a porche.

I'm this way with glasses, as many are. everyone has their vice that they dive into, or covet. The 2017 tech bro doesnt give a shyt about clothes, but they have a $7000 set up including monitors for their gaming rigs and consoles.

So, "save your money and settle" does not apply for aficianados of anything.
