... was talking with a couple classmates years ago about putting together an independent black-owned and ran accounting business, but they didn't fw it 'cause of the uncertainty. The clientele is there for black accountants to eat well, but I think the problem is the extra work that gotta go into fishin' for it.

We are not in accounting, but we hire accountants and other positions by the boatload. All I am saying is, DEI practices as I've said before on this board started making a lot of departments look straight up black in the years I've been with them. Even had a DEI person hired last year who was doubling efforts.
Unfortunately we have beef with the Trump regime I can't go into detail about but its made hiring dry tf up and had a companywide re-evaluation of how they recruit talent just so we don't run afoul of this mothafukka.

When I was at university doing an accounting degree, there were enough black people in my classes where we could have got something shaking, but they didn't want to put in the work. This was back in 2017, so now that Trump is doing this I wonder what the response is going to be like from black people in the industry.
I changed majors, but always wanted to finish my units and get a CPA to start my own business, but now more like a side hustle instead of a career.
