If Destiny ever makes it to the Tourney scene that exclusive map will be banned from the map rotation in Tourneys like how Kratos and his stage were banned in the Mortal Kombat Tourney Scene/Evo and all Evo Qualifying tourneys. Reason being is that only certain people will know the map and the rest of the Destiny players won't know the map so it's best to just ban it from the tourney altogether
I thought players only entered Tourneys for the console that they're familiar with. I would've assumed only PS4 players of the game would play the in a tourney for a PS4 version of the game. That doesn't really make sense as something as what controller they're using and what system their on would also be somewhat of a hindrance for some players.

Anyway that's irrelevant to what I was saying. Everyone playing Destiny won't be playing in a tournament so that "Well that map isn't going to be in tournaments anyway" point doesn't really change what I was saying.

Not really. Whatever system is Tourney standard is what they use. For a long time Evo was PS3 now it's 360. If Destiny is basically the same across both consoles then players can pick up on either system and compete in a given tourney. Fighting games have the advantage of Arcade Sticks which help players compete on either system w ease

@AkaDemiK can explain it a bit better when it comes to FPS tourneys. I'm more experienced in Fighting Game tourneys

I know fighting games didn't really matter since Arcade sticks seemed to be universal.

I got it.

Not a big deal for me. I dont care about armor mods or missing out on a mission, yea...wont lose sleep over that. The only thing interesting in this deal is the map, thats only if its good or not....however, ill have to play the game to see if I like it before thinking about missing out on one less map for a year.

You are correct. The major tourneys stick to a specific console and everyone competing will play on that console. For example the current COD events use the xbox one at MLG and UMG.

Destiny having one map exclusive for a year may or may not force tourneys to run events with the PS4. The map won't ship day 1, probably a month or two into the games lifespan and its only one map, which may or may not be fit for competitive play. Also, the xbox has been the go to console at fps tourneys and that may not change, people love the controller for shooters and MS throws around a lot of $$ to support these events. Bungie has never put forth any $$ in a Halo tourney, only thing they've done is shown up to showcase new maps at an mlg event back in 09, so we have no clue how much they will support never really supported E-Sports, only acknowledged it. Activision will probably put the $$$ up. However, this is just my take on the situation, ill cop Destiny when it drops and see what happens eith the competitive scene, because right now not too many ppl are feeling its competitive value on the competitive gaming forums I fukk with.
