Never liked this song but it had people like static and ginuwine in the video so its fun to watch lol.

The production was cool but yeah, the song itself was kinda just ok.
The video was tight tho. Seeing Static and the rest of PLaya, G, D and Suga, and Magoo.
Man, what could've been if DeVante would've done right by all of them. He had a handful of talent!

Some of his underrated upbeat jodeci piff

Some of them unreleased Da Bassment tracks
:ohlawd:

As far as the 90s goes he top 3 for me, only folks i'd put above him are Jam and Lewis and Teddy Riley.

Still crossing my fingers that one day we hear them tracks he did with Michael Jackson

Yup.
He had them all holed up in cold ass upstate New York.
It had to hurt and burn when they branched off and did their thing and then he ended up falling off.
If only he would've done right by em'.
Timbaland was like they (him, Playa, Suga (Missy's group), Ginuwine and a few other artists) all stayed in the same apartment and lived off of noodles, pizza CRUST and whatever food DeVante left behind for them. Basically like scraps. :mjcry:

Yup can't blame for all running away, even if it was behind his back, when he was basically running that bytch like a plantation. Even bringing up painful memories from a childhood of abuse for Missy.
:mjcry:

It's easy to see why they're all so quiet about it now. From slapping folks to throwing chairs. And I gotta feeling that was only the beginning
:merchant:

Breh really lost his mind after that robbery

Yeah, they all did the right thing by getting the fukk up outta dodge and stop messing w/ his ass
The other thing to remember is D was still young too.
He had a shyt load of money, artists to take care etc etc.
Then you add in the drugs, ego, pride, the robbery, and it's just this storm of shyt that then fuels the tyrant he seemingly became at some point.
Damn shame bruh ain't know what the dynasty he had until everybody left

All facts and all of that in addition to signing a bunch of bad deals I heard, acculating debt especially after Da Bassment fell through and Swing Mob was dropped

Makes me wonder if he really should have just taken a year or two to actually learn the business on some Michael Bivins type shyt before jumping straight into it virtually right after Forever My Lady was released.

In addition to that just plain trying to do too much, between jodeci, producing for others and trying to run ya own label with multiple groups/artists on it at the same time. Just too much on his plate at one time and a recipe for disaster.

Kinda makes me compare and contrast his and Teddy Riley's careers. Both producers for their group, Guy and Jodeci, both had acts that they mentored, both produced successful tracks for others, especially Ted with MJ of course but Teddy seems to be doing pretty good and easily the much better of the two, legacy in tact, properly known and recognized as a GOAT tier producer/songwriter, at least among black folks, while unless you're an old head or a Jodeci fan you probably have no idea who Devante is.

Guess we can only dream of what could have been
