So, I hear a lot of people bytching about the supposed money grab by capcom to continue putting out DLCs and various versions of SF IV instead of just making a brand new SF V. However, I was thinking it about this way.
The SF IV engine is a great one in itself, and outside of moving the series to the next gen, I still have a fondness for the current style and gameplay of SF 4. The only motivation to come out of with SF 5 at this point would be to change those two things drastically in addition to moving it to the next gen because otherwise if they keep the same art style and gameplay mechanics then its simply going to be the same game with tweaks and SF 5 slapped on the title. Its not like uncharted where you creating a whole new story line and atmosphere from game to game. I think its a positive to continue fine tuning the current game and developing new content with that current paradigm until enough time passes that the community for SF 4 has died and there is a real incentive to put out a brand new game to drive back up interest in the series.
Not saying I wouldn't buy SF 5 in a heartbeat, but at this point I would also readily still play SF 4. Just saying.
