Because they were so consumed it caused them to operate outside their respective levels. Not sure if it was on purpose but outside some major hiccups Dexter always showed controlled pursuit, these folks moved sloppy, loud and not secretive, or they had no actual plan, doaks did but then Dexter didn’t go down easy and that was his bad

Thats my point. Why are they so consumed with dude to where they take leave of their senses? Its ironic that the abrasive a$$hole loose cannon in Doakes actually did the best job in gathering evidence, catching him in the act, and damn near getting him to confess. Dexter actually had to respect him. He was rolling his eyes at the rest.

The memes made me watch as I never made it past S1. Doakes & Rita were easily my favorite and the juxtapositions of their relationships made this show tick. Doakes demise hurt but I pushed through and made it to S4, which has been frustrating. Dexter's obsession and his constant interfering with the police for his desires - veering from the code, made him boneheaded. However, nothing quite prepared me for that finale. Brehs what is life??
