I can only assume they are only comparing it to Switch games. Otherwise it doesn't make sense

I'm playing the remake of the first Mafia, games like that affirm my opinion that graphics have reach their peak and the next gen should focus more on performance, hell some developers are not even switching engines anymorel, just keep optimizing and adding modern features.

Next gen should be making sure the gaming standard is 60 FPS and trying to see how good you can push graphics while keeping it at a stable 60 FPS. The differences in how much you can push graphics, as you mentioned, reached their peak, or how much they can grow is getting smaller each gen.

While having the standard of performance mode, if you have it be 120 FPS.

Graphics have hit a ceiling as far as what hardware can produce via pure rasterization, I think. All else is the 3D-tv-style marketing of frame generation and "machine learning" and whatever other trendy catchphrase comes down the pipeline.

Maybe, they refers Mafia on PS5 Pro?
