Singer has writers. So what? This shouldn't even be a conversation. Things are written for artists because the writer(s) know that the artist can perform it better than them, or because the artist has star power which makes their contribution more profitable

I think it was a legit question. Splitting the writing credits 24 ways on a hit song is just bad business. 'We are the World' by USA for Africa featured nearly 30 of the 1980's top artist, yet only had 2 songwriters.
