Was dragged to see it, knew it was gonna be some bullshyt. Boring as fukk...Issa Rae has no presence on screen.

I was a little worried it would have some swirler/bedwench angle based on the previews of the “little” girl pining for the cac teacher. Both of the leads ended up with black men at the end, so that was cool.

Skip it, not worth your 10 bucks!

Thought it was enjoyable. I expected people to come out and support it more especially with Issa Rae’s Insecure fan base and the whole black girl magic thing. I was disappointed it didn’t make its money back bc it seemed like they were marketing it well.

Yeah but I’m comparing it to a worse movie which was What men want that dropped earlier this year. Which had the same budget as this movie and a R rating. That movie ended up making more opening weekend. I get that Shazam was in its second weekend but I’m baffled at this movie that seemingly had so much positive things working in its favor only making 15 million opening weekend on a 20 million budget. Who knows if it even has legs.

Watchable film. I chuckled a few times. Regina hall disappearing messed this up for me.

6.5 out of 10
