I could understand having a great music career and THEN getting locked up (Tupac) but just getting lucky with one song? I never understood why anyone thoguht these nikkas had thriving careers waiting for them when they got out. Music industry is too fickle for that

I think Chief Keef appeal was that he was just the first crash out/YN/whatever you wanna call it that image that people gravitated towards. I don't think dudes was really out here thinking he was really calling shots on some mob boss shyt. He was just the king of crash out Chicago at the time.

Gucci and Boosie were mostly regional artists. They never had top 10 hits before jail so they had a lot of room grow ,plus the south is way bigger than the tri state era so they can tour forever without mainstream hits. Bobby ain't lyrical enough to tour the tri state forever like the lox so without national hits,he's done for. Young ma is much better lyrically but just like Bobbi, she got a hit with no hook and that never happens twice
