Did Dam-Funk give Pharrell the blueprint for a good Snoop Dogg project?

I'm hearing the same direction, maybe a bit more production "value" (more tracks involved) and slightly more content lyrically (volume, not intricacy) , lyrically just a touch more cohesive . . although both are concise and lyrics take a backseat on both as if the vocal track is just an extension of the production, narrating what the music is saying

The dam funk album is much better to me.

Bush sounds way too similar all around. Songs just blend together. Also bush is more like disco funk compared to the dam project which is harder hitting and more varied

So more diversity in 7 Days of Funk . . honestly for an album that came out in late 2013 there's songs on there that make me feel like I've been listening to them my whole life even though I haven't heard them in awhile

This.

Btw Dam Funk is dope. Saw him live nearly five years ago

I saw him live by surprise when I went to the George Clinton & Parliament-Funkadelic concert a few months back . . I didn't know he was scheduled to open and it was a great surprise. Unfortunately I have a great disdain for that venue as they always oversell the place and have people on top of each other

Different types of funk though

7 days of funk is 80s funk

Bush is 70s funk

I agree that it was the blueprint though

My distinction would between 80s funk and 70s funk would be kind of like . . P-Funk (70s) - maybe Sly and the Family Stone, very spaced out . . just having fun, all about the musicianship - musically driven

80s . . I would say brought character to funk. More cohesive songs rather then jams and funky grooves . . example Prince . . Rick James

Let's have some funkoligists weigh in . . @stomachlines @shopthatwrecks

Did Snoop at least give Dam-Funk a courtesy call before releasing this album?

Different types of beats IMO, they're both laid back albums but 7 Days of Funk was more rooted in funk and boogie. Not sure how 7 Days of Funk laid the blueprint when Bush is basically a continuation of "Let's Get Blown" which dropped over a decade ago.
