Just asking because if you listen to people jay needed to stop doing what ever he was doing at the time and hold their hands.
He tried to Jaz a deal, bring that Jaz once tried to put on Jay, Jaz felt too proud to let Jay out him on. Instead he just features on singles etc.
I don't know what happened with Dehaven, but he was with the roc. Jay said he's a snitch ass nikka but who knows.
I don't know how DMX is Jay responsibility though, you lost me there.

You cant blame Jay for what X has done to himself..

Jaz tried to put him on, when he was 19 it failed. Jay went back to the streets and came back on his own, hooked dude up with a deal at Def Jam through Roc-a-fella even though no one wanted to sign him. Put him on his albums, singles that were shown on MTV and more which is a lot more than he did for Jay. He didn't capitalize of it.. And started hating.
According to Jaz The Roc and Def Jam wanted to give him a standard deal (aka not give you all your royalties and publishing, as every other rapper in the game has) and Jaz felt that he was getting robbed and should have some kind of deal people get when they've sold millions indie i.e. obtain all your royalties and publishing. Despite that he was still on Jays albums. Word has also said that he didn't trust Harlem nikkas (who does?) Dame and Biggs.
And while jay was recording features for his wack ass albums rumors went around that Jaz-o was running around snaking on Jay, giving Nas false rumors and shyt.
