Did Mike D'Antonis offense show any potential in Denver in 98-99?

Ironically I remember watching that team a lot (I was a huge Nick Van Exel fan) but I don't really even remember Mike D'Antoni being the coach. I do remember that team being trash though, and I really don't remember them playing like these current Rockets do or the Suns before them did, but they may have. That was so long ago it's hard to recall; also I was probably about 12 or 13 at the time and didn't really have the knowledge to know what was going on, I just wanted to see Nick at Nite chuck up shots lol.

They were 8th in points per game and 12th in offensive rating...
They were 28th in opponents points per game and 29th in defensive rating...
They were 3rd in three pointers made and 2nd in three pointers attempts, and 20th in three point percentage...
They were 6th in pace...
Looks like he had a two guard line-up with Billups and Van Exel, looks like he had a stretch big in LaFrentz...

Sounds pretty D'Antoni-like to me :ehh:

Antonio McDyess was a beast in '99 :picard:
