Or did people think he was whack from the jump?

PEOPLE felt craig like crazy when he first dropped. no one ever thought he was wack. what happened was. that flavor in ya ear blew up. then you couldnt wait for the album. the album finally hits, everyone cops. then they realize "wait a second. is it just me or does this entire album sound like a run on from flava in ya ear?" once people realized this was the case. beat wise and his rap cadence. he became a less hot rapper.

When he first dropped, everybody liked him. Flava in Ya Ear was a hard record. People didn't think he was whack at all. He did kinda get a lot of Redman comparisons, and some thought he was a copycat.

Yeah, everyone liked Craig Mack.

I'm not really sure when the tide changed. I think when Big really blew up he just kind of faded away and that was that.

Pretty much what everyone else said...

"Flava In ya Ear" had everybody feelin' him... album came out... and that was about it. I mean "Get Down" and them other joints were cool too, but he pretty much ran his course after all that was over.

He did manage to parlay that hit into a good year of guest appearances 'nshyt like that, but he also proved to be a one-trick pony, so that basically killed his relevance. By the time his buzz died down, nobody was even thinkin' about dude.
