Let me preface this by saying Marino is my favorite athlete of all time.

But I think Manning's sustained excellence is enough to supplant Marino as the GOAT.

But don't get it twisted, both in their primes and they are playing under the same rules? I'm taking Marino every time. A prime Marino is still the best QB of all time to me. That achilles injury derailed his career and he never had the team success that other greats had because of his wack ass supporting cast.

Can you imagine what Marino would do in this modern day NFL where you can't even touch receivers without getting called for a penalty? No lie, he might put up 60 TD's and 6,000 yards.

Peyton may have pass Marino with the stats and with one ring and possibly two he'll probably be put ahead of him. And I would not argue with someone who did put Peyton ahead of him. But if I was choosing a QB I would go with Dan Marino everytime.

Yes.

Marino still might be the greatest passer but Manning is just too good and consistent.

What's really throwing Peyton into my GOAT category is that he's setting all of these records this year and his arm strength is laughable at best. He's putting his whole body into 20 yard passes downfield. I don't think any QB has adapted like this to a serious injury before.

These kids have zero idea, ZERO of how fukking good Marino was.

I am a Patriots fan, mind you.....and Marino was the best QB I've ever seen and its really not as close as you'd think.

Crazy shyt is, Marino was setting records throwing to two 5'8 midgets and no run game to speak of. Pathetically one dimensional offense and you still couldn't do a damn thing to stop it because he was THAT good.
