Despite what recruiters and drill instructors/drill sergeants tell you, you can get out of boot camp/basic training. Usually during the first week or so I'd you just tell the DI this isn't for me, they'll process you out although it's not going to be easy. After the first week or so it's usually harder and in some cases by the time you process out of training, you would have graduated already if you had stuck through training.
When I went through boot camp, there was one guy in a our platoon who went to the DI Hut and said he couldn't do this. Now this was like on the third day and we really weren't training yet, just going through processing(medical, getting gear issued, etc).
I spent an extra two weeks to get a check
Side note Marine DIs don’t give a fukk bout that missing home shyt and assume anyone is lying if you try to act you depressed and don’t know what to do with yourself. My bunk mate didn’t even do nothing but be a white boy who asked to go to the bathroom a little too often (that’s where it started) That’s where he earned the name “bytch” from our 3 Drill Instructors 
DI made him walk on the line with his hands on his hips summon when he said “where’s my bytch” for 2 weeks straight. Straight hoed him out… and literally all that happened was he wrote a letter to home about how he was depressed and the DIs were being mean to him. DI opened his mail and the fukkery commenced.
