Did The Rumble Needed a Backstage Skit To Avoid The Boos?

I've been rewatching the Royal Rumble on Dailymotion and I :bryan: everytime close to the end when the entire match started to get booed by the crowd... specially DC Dave and Mysterio mainly because everyone was expecting Daniel Bryan to come out at #30 but never showed up. It got me thinking... could WWE avoided the backlash of the fans had they simply done a 2 minute skit explaining why D-bry was not gonna be in the Rumble match?

Seriously they could have done a skit showing Daniel in the medical room getting patched up then having HHH showing up saying that he ain't letting Daniel compete in the rumble match due to injuries despite Daniel's protests. Or they could have done what they described on Raw with Daniel storming into The Authority's office demanding to be put into the rumble match only for Stephanie to deny him due to his "injuries" from his earlier match leading to D-bry calling out HHH for hiding behind his woman adding more soundbytes to their Wrestlemania match promo.

The crowd would have seen this on the titantron and be like ":ohhh:D-Bry is not in? Well lets back up Tista he's all we got:yeshrug:" and Batista would have gotten that hero's welcome :blessed: back to the WWE but instead he just got the :usure::comeon::pacspit:..... lets not talk about poor Mysterio:snoop:. Am I wrong about this or was the crowd gonna :piss:regardless?

I think the crowd would have pissed on it regardless. It also depends on the timing of that skit. If they did it soon after his match with Bray, maybe it wouldn't have been so bad; but if they waited right before the Rumble to show that, the crowd may have started booing even earlier in the match, and chants may have taken over the entire thing (similar to what Cena/Orton faced in their bout.)

Rey probably would have gotten a better reception though at number 30, as opposed to getting cheered when he got chucked into the bushes :pachaha:

I still think Batista would have caught the same flack and the crowd would have rolled with Reigns the same (maybe more).

I don't think there was a particular right move to combat, or even soften the crowd for not having Bryan in the Rumble.

Nah the only thing that could have save this rumble is either the authority or the Wyatt's eliminating Bryan from the Rumble personally. Otherwise I see what you are saying in regards to the skit idea, but there was no excuse to not have Bryan in the rumble or not have Punk last to the final three just to appease the smark demographic in some fashion.
