Did y'all see Sherman throwing Russell Wilson under the bus to boost himself up?

Russ is playing himself out of an HOF spot.

His argument is borderline at best and if you want him to make it, you'd hope he found success post Seattle to seal it.

Instead he's been an ineffective journeyman. He could've retired when he left Seattle and his resume would be just as good.

I know people are saying you're take is dumb, but I completely get what you're saying. It's not that he's necessarily playing himself out of a HOF spot, but it's adding context to his career. I'm not saying I agree or disagree with your take on him not being a HOF QB, I get what you're saying. It's essentially look at how people viewed him when he had an elite defense, and now looks at how he's performed in the years since.

I feel like people have too low of standards for the HOF nowadays. I think he may get in someday, but I don't think he should be some sort of lock.

Let's tell the truth a lot the players from Seattle were jealous of Russ let's call a spade a spade.

Also Sherman keeps showing you just how much of a hating ass nikka he is, whether it be hating on other cornerbacks or even other sports he is a negative person.

That would explain his substance use issues

I don't even really like Wilson but the dogpiling as hes in the twilight of his career like he posed to be playing like prime russ is hilarious

i hear you famo
but its the hall of fame
eli manning is an icon, russell wilson isnt really

cant write the story of the nfl as they say without talking about Eli, but you can without Russ

playing in NY and only playing for one team makes his case that much better too

I don't think either Wilson or Eli as players and talent wise are HOF worthy. However, I think Eli definitely gets in. He played in New York/New Jersey, won two Super Bowls against the near unanimous GOAT with one of them ruining an undefeated season, and people will remember the iconic moments of Tyree and Manningham (more so Tyree).

If you could magically just remove the playoffs where his team won games with him, then I would not have him as a HOF player. You can't miss the playoffs that many seasons and have never been considered an elite QB.

I don't think Rivers, Ryan, and Cam should get in either.

TYRONE GA!
I dont agree with that.

No MVPs
No All Pros
Doesn't hold any major records
Not elite relative to peers

People bring up pro bowls because that's his biggest individual accomplishment.

Now i would agree that early on he was on the path, just never really materialized.

he does have an all pro.

And, it's ridiculous how Sherman acts like Russ didn't contribute at all and that it was all the LOB, when he himself benefited massively from the rest of that secondary.

He wasn't a real true ELITE #1 cover CB. He's going to say it's not his fault and that is was scheme where he didn't always follow the #1 WR on the opposing team, but real elite CB's do.

He's not sniffing the jocks of Revis, Ramsey, Gilmore, Surtain, and some others.

I think that the Hall of Fame should be SUPER exclusive. Complete no doubters. When you say the player's name, there's no thought needed.

Lawrence Taylor
Jim Brown
Peyton Manning
Tom Brady
Reggie White
Barry Sanders
Emmitt Smith

Like... it's not even a discussion. If you have to stop and think for a second about a guy, he's not a HOF IMO

Like i said look at 18,19,20 with no running back with Seattle keep bringing in one after another

Offensive line was trash and Russ running around making plays and got Seattle to the playoffs

I don’t care about Denver, Pittsburgh and the Giants now.. dude was just a bridge at them points

That's how I think of it for the most part.

When I hear names such as Gore, Stafford, etc., I don't think they should be in the HOF, although Stafford's numbers are better than I thought. I know a lot of people disagree with me on this, but I'm someone who thinks Mike Evans is not a HOF player. You should have to have been ELITE when you were playing. Mike Evans has been a very good WR that consistently put up very good numbers, but people overvalue those 1,000 yard receiving seasons. It's such an arbitrary number.

It's not even my take, I'm, as you said adding context to what they said during TNF. If you ask me, it's more that he never played himself into one.

When Russ won the first ring and as he started to do more individually it was easy to say he was on a HOF trajectory. But it never materialized.

A lot of QBs have benefitted from a change of scenery (Manning, Stafford, Brady) and used it to enhanced their resumes even further. All we have is :trash: from his Pitt, Denver and Giants runs.

And yes the standards are too low, passing stats have gotten inflated so much that most of the passing leaders are from recently. We had a dude in here earlier talking about Eli Manning being top 10 in TDs, like what in the entire fukk :mindblown:
