shyt had its peak from like 2001-2006, when producers would just raise the pitch on some vocal sample and loop it

I loved it back then but looking back a lot of it was wack. the heatmakerz were the worst at that shyt. they have to be the laziest beat makers in history. just raise the pitch real high on some 2-second sample and throw some wack drums over it. that was their M.O for their entire career

I was listening to some old Dipset tracks and the production was pretty shytty looking back on it but you couldn't tell me at that time that shyt wasn't hot.

Some Heatmakerz shyt aged well, but a lot of the shyt sounds horrible now (especially the imitators). Dudes were just pitching up the loop and throwing stock, lazy-ass drums over it with virtually no effort put into mixing the shyt whatsoever

Yeah the heatmakerz were the worst and def killed that sound but you couldn't tell nikkaz that during that era
