When I started gaming they didn't have ratings... that started when I was in college and by that time I was able to buy my own games so it didn't matter...

As a parent now.... I'm aware of the ratings but my kids play tings and I monitor what it is

They didnt care with the exception of Conker's Bad Fur Day. A Blockbuster employee told them not get it.

Nope.

The only time my mom had a issue with anything R rated was House Party 1. I wanted to see that movie being a kid & play fan so bad. She would not allow me to watch it. But that made me want watch it even more:shaq:. So when she went out for a night I went through her VHS collection, grabbed that bootleg that had House Party written on duct tape. I watched it and was like :ohhh: now I know why she didn't want me to watch. I would have got away with it if I rewind the tape and like took the tape out the fukkin VCR and put it back:snoop: My mom came home later that night when I was sleep & saw her VHS tapes been rummaged through. She screams my name "CHARLES U LITTLE MOTHERfukkER" I immediately woke up like:merchant: . I hopped out of bed preparing to Barry Sanders her ass:jawalrus: if she partied I knew I could wear her down. We had a nice size house and I was quick af as a 7 year old. But my mom didn't party that night she was sober:sadcam: She came in my room, but I darted out quick as shyt. She tried to get me for like 5 minutes before she gave up and went to wake my older sister to help her. I was so mad. I wanted the 1 v 1 :martin: But my c00n ass sister had to help :russ:My sister start chasing me which was bad, but I used that as free chance to blow her shyt out every time she tried to grab me:bryan: after like 10 minutes they cornered me:to: I tried to split them but they grabbed my ass. My mom proceeded to give me one of my top 3 :deadhorse:of my career. It was worth it though. I went to school the next day quoting "i smell p*ssy":pachaha: and talking about that fat guy sexing his girl:pachaha: I was the man in 2nd grade that day:blessed:

Until a teacher heard me quoting that line again:gucci:

Safely to say a remix to my ass whipping happened after to school:martin:

my mom straight up said 'i know my son, i raised him' and nothing else . :wow::wow::wow:

My parents didn't monitor the N64 games I played like Turok, Doom, Duke Nukem, that SubZero spinoff MK game, or whatever. They're mainly the reason I'm a huge Nintendo and Sega (rip) fan.

I had Mortal Kombat when it came out on sega when I was 6. I don't think it was the content, just how much I was playing it. Plus my dad played video games too so I'm sure that helped.

Nah. The first violent video game my dad bought me and my bro was the first Mortal Kombat on the Super Nintendo. I was only 6 years old when I first played Mortal Kombat. And my dad was a huge MK fan back in the day too so I would've played the game regardless.

I was 17 when I first played GTA 3 but I had a job so I bought my own games therefore my parents couldn't tell me what to play. So my parents largely didn't give a shyt what I played.

Did they actually looks at the rating system or lurk in the cut to see if you were playing some demonic shyt?

I know for a fact mines didn't my pops bought GTA4 for me back when I was 15. He didn't really give a shyt as long as I did good in school:yeshrug:

What about y'all tho?
Yea especially since they were buying. When that hot coffee mod dropped and they had it on the news my mama was like ain't that game dj got:russ:. Still played and beat SA tho:win:

Nah, most of us grew up in a different time period. Indiana Jones 1 had a dude get stabbed by spikes in the head in the opening scene. 10 mins later a dude gets popped in the forehead it's rated PG. So parents caring about a videogame wasn't really high on most normal thinking parents. They thought of videogames as Pac-Man and Mario.

To be honest violence in videogames didn't have much effect on us, but our generation was a generation that thought being a bad ass or just doing doing dumb shyt was cool.

nowadays things are different. watching a 10 year old play mortal kombat is a little weird but then I think "well, i used to do that'
