If you have the resourxes like Diddy then why not? You may not specifically be Diddy in terms of income, but if you are well monied you can do it up. When you are bringing in the bank like those types of folks you are faced with a serious predicament when it comes to trust. You have all the money in the world, but you can never find "true love" cause the question will always be lingering in the back of your head "are they here cause they like ME or are they here cause of the LIFESTYLE?" and unfortunately history has shown which of the two most people will be there for.

But goimg full Dionysius may have partially different meanings to different folks. It does revolve around your physical satisfactions, but those will be different for different people. Also keep in mind people have different belief systems so that may prevent folks from wanting to live like this becausd they believe in consequences in another life (discussion for another time)

Personally, I don't like nihilism. The concept of going "full Dionysus" seems nihilistic. I don't mind hedonism, but I feel like the goal would be to maximize your hedonistic pleasure for as long as you possibly can, as opposed to burning out in a bright spark.


I think the bright spark, or yolo, or drink(or drug) yourself into a stupor model only works when you can reasonably expect no more joy to occur in your life (terminal illness, becoming quadraplegic, losining both sight and sound, etc). But most people rarely enter this state. In my oppionion, Alexander wasn't at this point in life. And Certainly not yourself Dave with 40ish more years of development left.

Interesting.. I'm lookimg at it through the lense of being an existentialist/absurdist action. I'm faaaaar from a nihilist in my beliefs. Maybe I should've been more clear because you stating maximizing hedonistic pleasure is precisely how I envisioned it.
