Gentrification is really crazy in the area. Go-Go is a staple in DC and white people telling the residents that they don't want to hear it because it's too much noise is the last straw. Add in the fact that they want to treat Howard University as a dog park and you get something like this.

Dawg they need to be reminded of how black DC- was and how black the surrounding areas ARE.

I remember Georgia Ave day/Carribean festival 90s-early 2010's. Nothing but black faces walking talking, sitting on the stoop, posted outside, gogo music, reggae/Dancehall and this when I used to come down in the summer, being a little kid wondering wtf is a junkyard or backyard.

When I got older and moved down here I used to sit up on the wall at Howard and watch all the phat joints pass by.
