Digital foundry is viewed as Xbox friendly to fanboys because they revealed the Xbox one X. But digital foundry is the same peoplethat killed the Xbox at launch.

What's newsworthy imo is how this came to be. The fanboy reaction is why this is happening and is a microcosm of what goes on here The same overreacting shyt happened with PUBG Ryse Quantum Break, name the exclusive and the fanboy commentary will tell the overall story.

I wouldn't go that far, people care about differences in gaming/life/etc. Fanboys should be able to control themselves but can't, which lead to the outcry which is bad publicity which leads to then threatening legal action

Redout on Xbox One X falls short of the PS4 Pro experience

UPDATE: Developer 34BigThings has responded to our analysis of Redout, taking issue with our findings - specifically the 1080p rendering resolution of the Xbox One X version. "We managed to scale the resolution between 90 per cent and 50 per cent of native 4K, which means the resolution goes from the upper limit of 3456x1944 to the lower one of 1920x1080," CEO Valerio Di Donato says. "More technical details on this will follow in the next days, when everybody will be back from holiday vacations but meanwhile let us spell it out: it's not 1080p."

First of all, apologies to 34BigThings for the flak attracted by our article - we updated it once additional data from VGTech came in, which demonstrated that an error had been made, and have since pulled the video which is not so easily updated. We will revisit the game and post a new version as soon as we can. However, it is still clear that Redout has issues on Xbox One X that aren't anything like as pronounced as the smoother PS4 Pro version, and the developer says they will work on improving them.

"As many users reported, there are still some frame-rate hiccups where the game can't keep the 60fps pace and significantly drops below the 45+ threshold, which is something we are aware and very sorry of," Di Donato continues. "This happens more frequently where many AI opponents are factored in, while it's close to nonexistent on time attacks, solo races and races with few opponents. We are aware of these issues and we'll keep working on those as long as possible.

So the game ran anywhere between just under 4k and 1080p. Around 45 fps. Sounds like dynamic scaling to me.

This was more or case of the devs being full of shyt though. Don't advertise your game at 4K@60fps if it damn near never hits that target and is dropping frames fairly frequently. Not to mention taking about rendering from 50% to 90% of 4K, then providing 1080p as the lower limit. 1080p is 50% of 4K now apparently.
Lol @ a lawsuit though. What can they sue for? DF did a tech analysis and gave their numbers. That's not libel

No they are extremely biased against Xbox. Xbox reached out to them for Xbox one X reveal because it was a smart business move. Now they back to their old tricks and the one X hasnt been out for 2 months yet. Or you can look at the majority of videos before that reveal to see for yourself since you haven't done that yet

To be honest this whole generation has been a shyt show with this whole resolution talk. Both Sony and Microsoft drop the ball on the consoles and the base versions were suppose to be 1080p consoles and could barely run at that and now 4k and these mid gens can't even do that. 1080p 60 fps should of been the focus from the get go and fukk the 4k until the technology is there to do 4k@60fps on all titles. These mid gen uprgrades are nothing but a money grab.

yep, dev was like "our game is absolutely not 1080p... except when it's 1080p "
