Not really a panic move. The players love him and this gives us continuity on offense, which is key for a young QB
I mean you could have kept continuity by keeping Lovie and Dirk.

All the teams that hired other coaches hired coaches that were better fits than Dirk. Bucs really got fooled into thinking Dirk was this hot commodity when in reality others were still ahead of him.

I hope Dirk is great, but this is a :ld: hiring at this point.

:mjlol: @ the Bucs. Our best defensive performance was against Koetter O. That a red flag right there.

Tampa will be forever in the basement.

:dwillhuh:

Lovie added nothing to this team though. Look at our offense before Dirk and after.
Jameis already knows the system. The best thing for a young qb is continuity. Koetter also has a track record of fitting his offense to his personnel. Again a big thing for a young offense.

Who would have been a better hire? The only other coach I would have preferred was Hue Jackson
