DJ Premier has announced that he’s launched his own record store, in celebration of the vinyl medium that enhances his and so many other Hip Hop DJs’ careers.

Taking to Instagram on Monday (May 6), the legendary turntablist announced that his new business venture is in partnership with his longtime manager, Ian Schwartzmann

NEW BUSINESS ALERT: My manager and business partner @ianschwartzman and I created our own digital record store,” he wrote in the caption.

“My passion for digging, collectibles, vinyls, test presses, tapes, cd’s and merchandise inspired us to bring this to life. This isn’t just for me and our TTT releases either, it’s bigger and will be the home for original music collectibles for all my peers too

Recently, Preemo discovered that he was the inspiration behind one of the late Rico Wade’s biggest hits, namely Goodie Mob’s “Cell Therapy.”

During an appearance on the Frequently Asked Questions podcast hosted by William “Fuzzy” West and Quincy Harris before his death, the Organized Noize producer discussed the impact that Jeru the Damaja‘s Preemo-produced “Come Clean” had on him

Jeru the Damaja, he had just came out too. Guess what that record did to me. That’s why I did ‘Cell Therapy,’” Wade said during the interview, much to the hosts’ surprise.

“I was in New York when that shyt [came out], and I’m wanting n-ggas to love [OutKast‘s] ‘Player’s Ball.’ They loving ‘Come Clean.’ […] Because that was so raw, I said, ‘Man, we gotta get deep into this New York thing.’”
