Quik really needs to leave this obsession with Dre alone.

We all respect Quik, but he ain't on Dre's level. That trash contrarian take started online, and we all know bro don’t have the catalogue to f*ck with no damn Dr. Dre. So he needs to chill with the bitter behavior and just be happy with the space he's in. He's been out here looking crazy for a minute now with this.

Beg to differ. Quik never had the caliber of talent that Dre had. He had fukking Hi-C, 2nd II None, AMG and others.. hell Suga Free was his Snoop and he made it work.

There's a few Death Row albums and Dre productions that wouldn't have been the same without Quik.

What is this b.s.? Why are we / is anyone pitting them against each other?

I like pumpkin pie and I like coffee

I like them together (Quik’s work for death row with Dre)

I like them separately (Dre and Quik solo albums)

Dre has the ability to not only mentor and shape top potential into superstars. This can’t be denied. Worldwide superstars: snoop, Em, 50 and so many more.

Quik personifies west coast top quality production and mixing skills.

Dre seems to have focused on maturing.
Quik still gives af about this.

It’s not Dre or Quik’s fault that 2nd II None couldn’t fukk with Snoop.

As an actual beatmaker and composer, that's very true.

But Dr. Dre is more so a traditional music producer who uses different people to help curate and create his sound similar to Quincy Jones.

He's made beats solo before but, after the OG Chronic, he's been getting a lot of help on the boards. And even many of his NWA beats were assisted by Yella.

If we're strictly talking about the final product though, I give it to Dre even though it boils down to preference.

Dre's best beats are more iconic and impactful in the hip hop world. Beats like Let Me Ride, Ain't No Fun, Deep Cover, Still Dre, Next Episode, California Love, In Da Club, How We Do, Straight Outta Compton, Bytch Please, XXXPlosive, Outta Control Remix, Deez Nuts, etc.

Quik has been more consistent over the years and his style has smoother production with more live instruments, chord changes, bridges, and R&B/Funk influence. But he doesn't really have as many classics as Dre. Even the songs I listed are a fraction of Dre's catalog.

There's tons of Quik beats I prefer over Dre beats but Dre has much more hall of famers that contribute to his legacy. But, again, it's apples and oranges because they both have different skills.

I was writing a post but this sums it up perfectly, lol

Quik is great but Dre’s got game changing albums like Straight Out Compton, No One Can Do It Better, Eazy Duz It, nikkaz4Life, 100 Miles and Runnin EP, The Chronic, Doggystyle

Again, Quik one of my favorite producers but it’s Dr. Dre has a production catalog that’s on another level and that’s just being honest

He's above Dre to be honest. Quik does everything Dre does and more

I agree, but I could throw in a few producers who were around back then, who did the same for Death Row and Dre.

Quik can't f*ck with that dude, lol.
Catalog wise nah. But actually talent in production? Definitely. Dre been damn near a glorified engineer for a minute now. Lol

FACTS!

I don’t even think Quik believes he's on Dre's level, but he wants people to believe it, lol. Look at Dre's catalogue. Most of his sh*t is iconic game-changing classics. Dude was untouchable for damn near his whole career. Nobody in this sh*t had a run like Dre. Quik knows that. But he's so insecure with his place in Hip Hop, that he constantly tries slick ways to throw his name in the talks with Dre. He ain't nowhere near that dude's level.

And to be honest, if we're talking West, I always f*cked with Battlecat more than Quik.
