Do black people who are against “Cancel Culture” know they’re falling into a trap?

Cancel culture. Both the left and the right are guilty of it.

Cancel Culture = "I believe in Free Speech until someone says something I don't like then they must be punished."
i.e. Not free speech.

Having said that. You're not entitled to a job.

don't understand "free speech" brehs :hhh:

civil society cannot just allow people to say whatever they want.

reasons:

1. contract law
2. defamation, libel, persecution
3. slippery slope and other follow on effects
4. public order
5. assault - common assault and threatening

etc

"free speech" doesn't mean that you can just say whatever you like.

People having an opposite opinion of you is not violating free speech.

You sound like an authoritarian in the Nazi mold in how you twist definitions

Cancel culture harms black ppl more than anybody because we don't have the resources or network to recover when we get 'canceled' cacs just move to a new job and lay low.
People say this yet can’t point to a black man who has been “cancelled.” Argument makes no sense.

In fact I’m not sure of many white dudes who have been cancelled either. And no, being thrown in the bushes because you’re a rapist (Weinstein) or pedophile (R Kelly) is not being “cancelled.”

Somebody doesn't remember 2 Live Crew getting arrested on stage and having to go to Supreme Court to justify making dirty records. :stopitslime:

Hell, after 9/11 tons of artists got cancelled by Clear Channel

Da Baby just got canceled

Kanye got canceled for supporting Trump & for saying "slavery was a choice"

Lil' Wayne got canceled for supporting Trump

Ice-T got canceled for "Cop Killer"

Ice Cube got canceled last year for not being a DNC puppet.

Boosie's gotten canceled for saying all kinds of shyt.

Nick Cannon got canceled by the Jews last year for all that Farrakhan talk

Farrakhan's been cancelled for years over his remarks about the Jews to the point where one of the Women's March organizers, Tamika Mallory had to disassociate herself from ever saying anything nice about him.

This dude Bryson Gray just got cancelled because his song "Let's Go Brandon" pissed off the liberals

YouTube bans 'Let's Go Brandon' song, claims rap is 'medical misinformation'

The thing about cancel culture is that while it is mostly nonsense every now and then there is a small group who try to air a petty grievance against someone for cheap engagement

For example many Jewish organizations try to use "cancel culture" to stifle any discussion about the actions of Israel.

This Netflix thing with Chappelle is largely to me about a community that thinks they are above jokes or comment unless its unconditional support or pandering.
