...BlacK Ameicans are more woke and have more pride in their race and it isnt even close.

I find far too many Caribbean Blacks love their nationality more over their own damn race....and that isn't an opinion...everyone in here know that is FACT

Its cool to have national pride in the country you rep....but so often its like they cringe their teeth to say they are Black.

im willing to bet everyone in this thread who knows a caribbean or a caribbean family...instead of talking about these 2 cases that happened with the police....they are complaining about the riots only
:sas2:

right? :sas2:

look at all the jamaicans who clowned michael jackson and now there is an epidemic of skin bleacing going on..

just no pride in being black at all

whens the last time you heard a caribbean black say "im black and im proud"? They always gotta use the Pharell angle of "I'm a new type of Black"
this is just absolutely false and its clear you don't hang around Jamaicans

AAs can't relate to nationalism so i won't touch that
but the english and french speaking Caribbean people know they are black
just yesterday i was over my dad's side (Jamaicans born in Jamaica; used to live in Charlotte) to who were down with the riots and dissing the police just like the rest of us. stop stop with that foolishness. you sound like you only know about Jamaicans from the internet

listen carefully...i never said jamaicans dont think they are black. when did i say that? i only said dominicans do that shyt/

obviously jamaicans know they are Black...i said Jamaicans are more likely to be on that "I"m more than Black..." nonsense...That pharell nonsense. talking about you know i dont hang around jamaicans when my moms side is jamaican. yall on the coli act like every member is some white kid.

now thats a lie? jamaicans dont rep their nationality more than their own race? you just admitted i was right when you said AA cant relate to the nationalism. for obvious reasons.

Once again...I KNOW JAMAICANS know they are black...im saying alot grit their teeth to say it...they will say its unnecessary . We need to just say we Black more often.

Damn, I remember this argument happening in 1987, its 2016 and shyt is still happening, and it aint starting with Black Americans.

I hate to say it, but a lot of west indians, latins, and Africans, are giving off a low self esteem vibe.:yeshrug:

basically.

I have heard quite a few Africans/Caribbean people talk about diluting their accents. I'm Nigerian American and sound hella white, and it annoys the shyt out of me when I meet a Nigerian with an accent try to whiten up their voice when they talk to me. I actually go as far as telling them to talk in their normal voice because I can't understand what they're saying. It might have a lot to do with lack of exposure to other cultures and being comfortable with themselves as opposed to feeling like they need to assimilate to be accepted.:yeshrug:

Well I chose to say speak a bit more standard since even when you're home you can't be talking all that raw ass slang infront of certain folk for obvious reasons, but I'm with you on when people try and mimic how you sound on some subconscious shyt. Especially when it's white people that come around doing that jolly, heavy person walking drawling out in horrid Jamaican Patois going "Nah man, We cool, Staaaaarrrrrrrr"
full

I'm type polite so I just play it off and at times correct 'em from going into racial territory or anything like that, but certain white folk get REAL comfortable doing that shyt, fukk around and start using terms left only for the natives that cause fights even when WE use it. Like the first time I saw some drunk white dudes on a tour bus in St Thomas, fake dread lock hats, coconut with straws in it, three sheets to the wind drunk tell a Rasta Taxi man "Nah Mon', don't worry ya Bumboclaut muddaskunt about dis here, mon!":merchant:

If me and them foolish ass cacs wasn't off the same cruise ship, I would have left 'em to the wolves, but when that Dread held that dude up and started dangling him over the dock :AU_UCM: I had to do something.:lolbron:
