If I get a gun license in say PA, will it stand in another state ? Also how hard is it to get a gun license in NYC?

there's a wiki article on that, fam...certain states have reciprocity with others...some have more range than others, like Florida. you buy a strap in florida you can carry it in most places.

Its tough to get one in NYC. from what I heard almost impossible. The thing with gun licenses that you have to be careful with is just because you get a concealed carry for the state, every county/city has different by-laws. shyts really stupid.

It is usually called a concealed carry permit, not a license. A license usually has to do with businesses that have an FFL (Federal Firearms License) in order to sell and/or transfer firearms.
Some states, you can open carry without a permit. But, you can't conceal it when you do carry open.
Also, you can't get a permit in one state if you are a resident in another state.

In Texas I know for sure there are 10 states I can shoot someone in and they will honor my concealed license. Just check your official state governments website and type in the search function for recip if you are allowed to carry.
Every state has varying rules. Some are less restrictive.

Utah permit is the way to go. Good in 32 states, tho probably not NY. A good indicator of how difficult it is to get a ccw permit is whether the state is "may issue" or "shall issue". Shall issue should be relatively easy, may issue...good luck
