Obviously no one would choose to be homeless, but do you think people choose to stay homeless? That begging eventually becomes a lifestyle they sought after? I mean, in a scenario, you get fired from a job, lose your place, lose your car, have no family or friends, now you're homeless. At this point, I would think most people would attempt to seek employment anywhere, and take shelter at one of those long stay motels if nothing else.

I know it's easier said than done, but I still feel like there are a good amount of people on the streets not even making the effort.

I've worked in shelters (I work in 1 now) and some people do get used to the lifestyle. They get used to being fed 3x a day, living amongst dozens of other ppl, having their linens and laundry done for free etc. Most refuse housing (either private or shared w/ a few others) because they're used to the shelter life and are afraid of being self-sufficient. I still don't understand it :manny:

You can make more money being homeless than working a min wage job.
the holiday season you can pull 300-500 a day.

The clients in the shelter are super rude and entitled at times, you wouldn't believe it. You'll hear them bytching about having to eat chicken 2 days in a row, or scoffing at the quality of the food in general, and the linens and clothes we give them. But many are mentally ill and have addiction problems

its impossible to pay rent, living expenses and buy food with a minimum wage job so no

I'm actually surprised there aren't more homeless
Most people live the same lifestyle, they just have a "Home." It's called the working poor. More people are working poor than in the history of america.

It's not as hard as you'd think...I know plenty of people doing it with help from the state. I know a girl who has a monthly rent of like $12 through some type of housing initiative.

Is that volunteer work or an actual job?
