Do people expect Jesus’ return to be some huge event where he pops out the sky?

Why people waiting for some grand event?

In my experience, Jesus "coming back" is used as an excuse to be lazy.

Talk to certain nikkas about establishing wealth & power for our future generations - they start telling me about how the messiah coming back.

Black wealth in America headed to zero in 30 years, but dont worry - Jesus is coming back

20,000+ children worldwide (most of them black) die each day due to poverty and hunger, but dont worry - Jesus is coming back.

Gone come like a thief in the night, so no.
Rhetorically speaking this refers to a different event than Jesus returning to earth. The rapture is allegedly the thief-in-the-night moment where you go to him, not the other way around. According to christian lore, the vast majority of humanity will not see jesus during this. His actual return to earth occurs after the whole tribulation period and will probably will be "some huge event where he pops out the sky". Very literally.

Its been a hot minute since i popped open the book of revelation, but from what i recall, Dude is supposed to descend on a white war horse as the whole world falls to sht around him.

From my understanding we all go up to heaven to meet Jesus if we're still alive...

Then we all go back.down to earth where JESUS will reign.

Through religion is how I gained knowledge of hypnotism and how to cast it on intended targets.

To think there are billions of folks who really believe the world will come to an end - I find it quite interesting. It’s indicates a refusal to think deeply and to perform analysis.

the simplest question which I assure you no one can answer is this: suppose Jesus does come back as described in the religious texts, what happens next after judgement?

Every scenario produced to this question has been quite ridiculous.

People wouldn't follow him because he'd be too dark and not white. They'd call him a liar/false prophet/satan/etc..., white people would lose their damn minds and end up trying to kill him because they'd believe he was a terrorist and existential threat. Some Black Christians wouldn't follow him because he'd look like just another Black man and not white. Asians definitely wouldn't follow and would ban him from their countries. :wow:

The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
2 Corinthians 4:4 NIV
2 Corinthians 4:4

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
