Hov should of beat kendrick for rap album.
Neither were based on bangers,but hov was really saying some things on that album.
Kendrick just pretends like he has something to say.
Bruno Mars repackages older music for easy white consumption and is heavy affirmed by music publications. Kendrick is affirmed by publications but Hip Hop and of itself isn't taken seriously by them when it comes from black lips. Add that with who the committee is compromised of, and we have a a clear winner.

It made sense when Bruno gave his speech and said he was inspired by Babyface and Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis.... He has those songs that are easy to digest and enjoyable for all ages. Nothing deep or remarkable but music you can play 10 years from now and will still get people moving
I thought DAMN. was not as good as TPAB or GKMC. Hell, I was rooting for Hov over Kendrick. 4:44 was way better to me
