If they sell a certain amount of albums each week..how does that factor into their paychecks? :wtf:

For example ... Future just sold about 3,000 albums this week. Does he get cut a check each week or what? :dwillhuh:

um ...... very complicated ... but usually they dont see nothing in the first few months after release just that the label can recoup and analyze the success of the albums then generally 30 days. from publishing for all word their featured in. If rec label owns publishing as they do with most artists. As I said a few months and will get paid every set weeks or months. Definitely not a Weekly or biweekly thing. Depending if the song/album has been released a long time ago .. maybe every few months.

Record Label pays most artists up front though. Its essentially a loan. Give them an advance. But their "royalties" get divided up long after their album is out. Thats NET profit and most of these artists take a long time to turn red into green

They get a check every quarter from publishing companies like BMI, ASCAP, SESAC.

Album sales are after/if they recoup what was spent on the album like mentioned earlier.

If they even read their contract and own their pub :usure:

Good question but he can't see a dime from any sales until the label makes ALL the money they spent on him.

Dude got a million dollar advance and I'm sure he has managers.

One thing I learned from Wendy Day was that no matter what, the artist is always the last to get paid :sadcam:
