100, and that's what Lamar needs to model himself after, Russ. Not saying he can't, but the Vick prototype doesnt last long...

Unrelated, but we actually have had posters on here in recent weeks saying its disrespectful to compare Lamar to Vick. The big difference I see is that Lamar has more of a willingness to learn to read NFL defenses than young Vick did, and that alone gives you hope that he'll adjust accirdingly...

But seriously, you watch these highlights of Vick, or go from memory, watching Lamar today you see Vick all over him. Other difference is Vick had a true cannon for an arm, other than that, this is mostly the same player, yet a few people on here were offended Lamar should even be compared to Vick lol...

People saying right now Lamar is better than Vick didn't see Vick. Lamar is playing great right now but he's gotta do this a few season before comparing him to Vick

Vick was phenomenal. Not only can outrun anyone but might have the strongest arm in NFL history.

those guys could throw though, along with Russ, they were legit dual-theats

Lamar Jackson can't throw for shyt, and is a run-first QB

Lamar can absolutely throw it. That narrative started at Louisville because he always had wide open receivers and didn't have to make many tough throws and he really doesn't now but I've seen him throw passes that require accuracy and he's hit them. Dude is playing out of his mind in only his second season, it takes most QBs longer than that to perform like he is.

QB’s more likely to get hurt in the pocket than outside the pocket. These antiquated coaches and scouts finally starting to wake up and realize they probably need a more mobile QB now. Defensive players especially D lineman are getting faster and faster
I thin that’s a misleading stat. Most qbs operate in the pocket most of the time so of course that’s where they’ll get hurt the most especially since most qbs aren’t mobile. Mobile qbs however have a false sense of security that they’ll always be able to extend the play when sometimes they cant. Alex Smiths injury happened in the pocket but he tried to run and miscalculated his ability to do so. Brady, Mannings, Brees avoid injuries like Alex’s because they throw it away as soon as that pressure comes and don’t try and run. That’s something Aaron Rodgers is learning after his collarbone injury. We can’t deny the frequency that these mobile qbs are getting hurt: RG3, Luck, Tannehill, Mariota, Cam

Yes.

Steve Young won a Superbowl in the face of conventional logic at the time.

Russell Wilson has a Super Bowl ring (though he is an excellent passer as well)

Kaepernick went to an NFC Championship and a Superbowl and almost won

Cam went to a Superbowl

Lamar Jackson led his team to the playoffs and could be an AFC Championship Threat

Mahomes is a pocket passer but also a great athlete

Pass rushes have evolved and offensive line efficacy has dropped, so the QB has had to evolve.

Unless they are elite passers, those 6'5 statue QBs are a thing of the past.

So is Jalen technically the "first"

At least in terms of narrative.

People don't really consider young Russ a running QB for whatever reason. Steve Young was a runner/scrambler but the narrative didn't die with him. People sort of just focused on his passing by 94.

Jalen is the first black qb to have a team properly built around his skills

I was gonna say Lamar...

Although as good as Zay Flowers is you could argue the Eagles have 2 WRs better. Devonta is on par or slightly better than Zay imo.
I think @STAN JONES said as great as Henry is they should have signed Saquan.
