So brehs I was thinking I have an LG 60in tv that I got in 2010 it's an HDTV LCD monitor with 1080p and it's 60mhz. I see these TVs with the 4k resolution and maybe it's because I'm getting older but I don't see any difference in the picture. Does it make since for me to upgrade to another picture?

I mostly use my tv for gaming, watching direct tv, and streaming roku.... Can anyone show me the difference or state what's different about the new TVs coming out now. I'm not really enamored by smart tv because I har a roku and the direct tv box has apps. Help me out tech brehs. I don't want to be outing jelly on myself and looking at a bad picture on my ps4.

For video game lag they matter a lot. I had a sharp about 2 years ago that even with gaming mode on was impossible to play games on. I remember trying to play mlb the show on it and it was just impossible to hit the ball.

Showed a nice picture though

I really don't give a fukk. I have a 50" panasonic plasma that has fed me well for the past 2 years. Probably upgrade to a newer and bigger panny plasma now that they are all but gong to be extinct.

All I care about is the size :shaq:

At one point I had a XBR from Sony (top end TV) and a Vizio sitting right next to each other. In all honesty with them next to each other yeah I saw the difference clearly but that XBR was a $3000 ish TV in its prime (I bought it for half that when the models changed over a few months ago) and the Vizio was a $500 TV.

At one point that Vizio was my only TV and I gamed on it and the fact that there were better TVs out there didn't matter cause it was good enough. My XBR that I have now is not top of the line anymore. you can get 4K TVs for $3000 now from Sony even. The fact that they exist doesn't diminish my TV to me.

Basically buy the best TV you can afford. The real concern is hopefully you don't buy one so cheap it craps out on you in a few years. That being said TV manufactures lie their asses off now. they'll tell you a TV is 120Hz or use some phrase like 120HZ clear motion for a 60Hz set. the Hz only comes into play if you're watching movies. if you game or watch regular TV they don't matter cause none of these game consoles are putting out anything over 60FPS anyway.

1080p is good for me now, I don't care much for the smart tv stuff..... What I'm waiting for is this,

Just have to wait until it reaches the $2000-$3000 range....... I doubt they'll run cheaper than that....

It depends on what you really want, a clear picture or a nice looking picture. OLED tv is for banging picture quality due to the color quality, but for pure sharpness, 4k is the shiiiit. If you just want a nice tv just get a cheap samsung with 120hz and you are good.

Like the previous poster stated, once they combine both, it's over considering they are at least 120hz so your gaming can be good but, that also depends on how good your tv can process fast images a game will give. Test out game mode on the tv to make sure you're happy with it.
