A lot of non-Black people love our culture, talent, and swagger.

As soon as anything involving the plight of Black people comes about and perhaps White people have to acknowledge their wrongs, how the system possibly benefits them and is preferential, and institutional concepts put in place to hold back Blacks and other non-White people back they are quickly on….

:hubie:

That’s usually when they start juelzing and talking about how hard their European ancestors had it when they came here and how they had to pull themselves up by the bootstraps when just recently as less than a generation ago they had my people drinking out of separate water fountains, riding in the back of buses, getting educated from old books in antiquated facilities, etc.

White folks think them playing nice for a few decades while still leaving a lot fundamentally bigoted infrastructure and law in place changes all that. Nah.

I don't know. I mean the same Black musical figures that we'll say are influencing the world are bragging about their European clothing brands. I'm glad Jadakiss is getting his props nowadays but I'll never forget him spending nikkaz' rent money on a belt. At that point who's influencing who? Who's using who?

Something I noticed the past year or so is the deep insecurity of a lot of black women, especially online. I recognize that the Twitter birds don't represent most Black women, but they've got a platform. There's a ton of them that want credit for every miniscule thing. Someone tweets about getting a breath of fresh air, and some Twitter bird will tweet that Black women been getting fresh air and give us our flowers. That's a case of black people wanting to be influential.

No. But we do underestimate the influence of white teenage girls.

Over half of the most liked posts are from Billie Eilish :picard:

Now THIS is true.

White teenage girls and black teenage boys are probably the most influential groups on earth and control the culture frfr:manny:
