Do We Need Reform or Revolution?

It's late, my mind is wandering, was reading some Frederick Douglas and David Walker earlier today and it's been on my mind a bit. I'm not here to make a stance on anything, I understand how I may clearly look to be in the revolution camp considering the context I posted this under, I may or may not be at this point. I'm still searching for answers myself and for what I think our best course of action is. I seem to be drifting in that direction tho.

I wanna see what yall think and how yall feel in the current state of Black America and the world as a black man/woman.

Discuss, drop some knowledge, share your beliefs, educate each other(and me)

When you have a cancer, is it best to remove it as soon as possible or is it best to simply treat it and hope it doesn't come back or become more aggressive?

Reform is the coward's way out.

It's the way of the sellout.

It's the way of the privileged.

Revolution is always necessary. It is always better to remove those who make society sick than to waste time trying to legislate or socially engineer ways around the sicknesses.

Revolution will always be the pragmatic and safest course of action the people have at their exposal.

Let's take American slavery for example.

After the American revolution, the USA leaders at the time had a chance to get rid of slavery and they chose not to. Not because they did not think it was wrong, it is because they did not think the country was ready for free Blacks.

This great moral failing made racism worst because guess was the greatest fear in the nation during the 1800s? Free Black people. All the stereotypes and tropes regarding Black Americans was created in the 1800s to justify slavery.

Then the slavery issue created a great legislative hurdle and when politicians do not agree on something, war happens.

So the US Civil War happens and slavery is abolished but the situation has gotten worst. The federal government pulls out of Reconstruction and leave Black people vulnerable to terrorism and statewide discrimination.

And now we are here, still fighting over the fate of Black people because the leaders of the country at the time of the revolution refused to be true to their philosophy and free Black people.

They let the cancer grow.
