Do we want it to become a popular site ?

I feel like if it does gain more popularity, it will become overrun by trolls, cacs, and other demonic beings

And no, the "community" here will continue to weaken until the point where people feel super uncomfortable to have actual discussions here.

I've seen it happen to plenty of forums.

Push real people away and all you'll get are trolls and aliases and then people will slowly, but surely stop participating all together, especially as posters get older and enter the workforce.

Again, I've seen this happen a number of times.

Is the Coli a tight community?

No. Again, catering to nameless, faceless trolls and punishing those that try and have a real connection with the people here severely limits the kind of community building that goes on in productive, self-sustaining online communities.

I got my first corporate gig from a connection I made on a forum. It set me on a path that changed my life for the better. That connection got me out of a really bad spot in my life. That's what goes down on a "man's website."

Other connections from forums helped me travel the country back in my early 20s. Those connections are still very real to this day.

That's nearly impossible here because people are so damn scared to communicate with one another, even in PMs. Hell, even when you try to take things from PM to email people are still on some creepy sh!t. It's damn near impossible to have a phone or a Skype convo with these characters. And when you do get them on the line they're SCARED to even talk. As if they're going to get shot or something. Like, what the fvck?

It's all because of the environment. It comes from the top down. It's not sustainable for growth. Not only that it squanders what could be a very valuable social network of young Black men and women for a few cheap laughs at our own expense. Shameful.
