Generally speaking women are raised to value other peoples validation more than boys. For a lot of women, attention is love. That's why some of them will start shyt with you to see if you'll react. They need reassurance that you care even when you're responding negatively since the opposite of love is apathy and indifference.
Also part of the reason they're attracted to men who are secretive and don't open up easily. There's a feeling of having made him be vulnerable or emotional when he otherwise isn't. Its an exertion of power over the man that can be addictive.
Men can be alone because we enjoy hobbies that don't need other people. A man can spend 5 hours straight on NBA2k or watching a marathon of films. Men can sit and exchange opinions on message boards for hours at a time or work out at home or write fan fiction. A lot of women are raised to be validated by others while a major part of masculinity is not needing the validation of others.
