Do wrestlers live a similar lifestyle to rappers?

Wrestling nowadays reminds me of underground rap of the early 2000s.

Spot monkey indie wrasslers who are marks for 'strong style' are equivalent to Canibus type rappers. Aint nobody watching/give a shyt but hardcore nerds act like its better then JayZ

They dont got a story to tell, just wanna fit as many rhyming syllables possible into a line without any meaning

I think rappers get health insurance. I heard YMCMB paid for drake's wheelchair after he twisted his ankle

Think this type of question is the problem. Doesnt matter whos got the best bars, nobody is paying attention. Fans put too much emphasis on in ring talent rather than asking for better characters and stories.

I like AJ Styles I guess but Im not a fan of watching wrestling anymore because of what I said above. Cant stomach watching these shows. As great as AJ is, I have no interest in tuning in to see him say the same shyt every week.

While we can blame the writers of the shows, the talent dont seem to show any interest in developing good mic skills and they dont seem to have any interest in having cool storylines. They seem content with getting good ratings from Dave Meltzer. To me thats underground rapper bars bullshyt.

Ricochet talks about idolizing the Rock, but the producers of Lucha Underground knew he couldnt talk for shyt so he didnt get to say a single word until season 2. If you really love the Rock wheres the personality breh?

I agree with this, but AJ Styles is a terrible example of making this point. It's the the total package. Dolph Ziggler would be a better example.

Honestly though the entire roster makes the point.

Even guys who can talk end up being boring cause of the situations they are put in.

Cass and enzo come out and do the same thing every week. We still dont know shyt about them whatsoever. Their characters havent developed at all. How much of that goes onto the writing staff??? Id say a lot since we know Enzo works on his mic stuff....but they get 0 story lines.

But the other point about talent not being creative is a thing. I heard Russo interview Simon Gotch after he got released and Gotch was saying shyt like the Vaudevillains gimmick had nothing left.... Like uhhh what, you guys didnt even do anything...seriously they had a 3 week feud with the new day that was OK and thats that.

Meanwhile hes talking about how much he loves japanese wrestling etc..... But cant for one second think of an interesting angle to pitch to creative involving his gimmick.

Im assuming a lot of the guys are the same way. Seems like the wrestlers are marks for wrestling and think these basic ass storylines are good enough.

I said something similar way back. Rap and wrestling are extremely similar which is very ironic cause the WWE is hapless when it comes to hip hop and being in tune with it. There's a ton of wrestlers, and only a certain amount make it to the top and have standout careers. Same thing in rap. For every Drake and Jay-Z, there are a whole bunch of datpiff 20 download in 3 month mixtape rappers. They're equivalent to the dudes wrestling CZW dark matches.
If that's your comparison, that is damn near true for ALL entertainment/sports industries.

There's multiple stars in the NBA and NFL, with money spread from the biggest star in Lebron all the way to a guy not even scoring 4ppg in Mason Plumlee, it's not that way in wrestling.

NBA money is crazy. Role players make more than John Cena and Lesnar.
And for likely just 13 mins in a game a night too running up and down a court

C-Goat gotta memorize lines and get slammed on his ass in hick town, WV for less
